"We are all simply more human than otherwise"
Harry Stack Sullivan
I want our work to be meaningful and effective
I offer a compassionate, passionate, and integrated approach
to psychotherapy. My style is authentic, nonjudgmental and
supportive. I work with individuals in various kinds of distress to both relieve
suffering and address the issues causing pain. I work
collaboratively with patients to improve self-awareness, develop
insight, and learn new ways of coping with life stressors to
facilitate healing and growth.
For the past 15 years I have worked in a variety of mental health
treatment settings. I have been in private practice working
primarily with adults and adolescents for the past 7 years.
From 2005 through 2010 I worked as a psychiatric social worker at the
UCSF Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute, Partial Hospitalization Program
where I worked with individuals in crisis struggling with severe depression,
bipolar disorder, anxiety, psychosis, borderline personality disorder,
narcissistic personality disorder, suicidality and self-injurious behaviors.
