The relationship between a patient and psychotherapist is confidential. Information cannot be disclosed without written permission.
There are situations in which the law requires information to be disclosed:
required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must
notify the police and inform the intended victim(s).
If a client has intent to harm himself or herself, I will work with the individual
to ensure his/her safety. If an individual is unable to keep himself or herself
safe, I will need to take the necessary steps to ensure safety.
